Who we are

SECURE LOCKSMITHS & SECURITY PTY LTD (ACN 695 964 946), trading as Secure Locksmiths & Security, provides mobile locksmith and electronic security services in metropolitan Adelaide, South Australia. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to this company.

This policy explains how we handle information provided through securelocksmiths.com.au and related enquiries and service communications. Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles apply to us, we must comply with them.

Information you provide

When you contact us, we collect the information you provide so we can understand and respond to your request. Our website enquiry form asks for:

  • Your name and phone number.
  • Your email address and suburb, if you choose to provide them.
  • The service required, the urgency of your request and your message.

The enquiry record also identifies the page the form was submitted from and when it was submitted. During follow-up communications, you may provide a service address, vehicle details, photographs or information about a lock, key, door or security system.

You can make a general enquiry without providing your full identity, where practical. If you do not provide enough contact or job information, we may be unable to respond, provide an accurate quote or arrange work. Access to property, vehicles, keys or security systems may require evidence of identity and authority.

How information is collected and used

We collect information directly from you through the website form, email, telephone and service communications. If an authorised representative contacts us for you, we may receive relevant information from that person, such as a property manager arranging work.

We use enquiry and service information to:

  • Answer questions, assess requirements and prepare quotes.
  • Contact you, arrange attendance and communicate about requested work.
  • Check authority where needed before providing access or security-related assistance.
  • Keep enquiry and service records, handle follow-up requests and resolve complaints.
  • Protect the website and business, and meet applicable legal obligations.

Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list.

Website enquiries and service providers

Website enquiries are recorded in our WordPress website and sent to the business by email. We use Google for business email. Website administrators and the people handling enquiries may access these records to operate the site and respond to you. Our hosting, website support and email providers process information as part of delivering those services.

Where necessary for your request, relevant information may also be shared with people authorised to arrange or carry out the work, or a supplier assisting with a product or key-system request. Information may be disclosed with your consent or where required or permitted by law. We limit sharing to what is relevant to the purpose.

Our technology providers may process information outside Australia. Google operates globally and may process email information in the United States and other countries where it or its service providers operate. See Google’s privacy information for details. Hosting and support arrangements may also involve overseas processing. Contact us for information about the providers and processing locations relevant to your enquiry; we do not represent that all enquiry information remains in Australia.

Security information, identification and CCTV

Please do not put alarm codes, safe combinations, complete key-system details, payment-card details or copies of identity documents into the general website enquiry form. Give a brief description of the issue and we can discuss what information is needed and an appropriate way to provide it.

The enquiry form does not request identification uploads or access to CCTV recordings. If a particular job requires identity documents, system credentials or footage, the purpose and handling arrangements should be discussed as part of that service. This website policy does not give us unrestricted access to your security systems or recordings.

Before supplying another person’s details or photographs, make sure you have authority to do so and include only information relevant to your request.

Storage, security and retention

Enquiry information may be held in the website database, business email and associated hosting or backup systems. The website uses HTTPS to protect information in transit. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Our approach is to limit access to people who need information for their work and retain it only for as long as reasonably needed to handle the enquiry, support related services, resolve disputes or meet applicable record-keeping obligations. Retention depends on the type and purpose of the record; there is no single period for every enquiry or service record.

You may contact us to ask about retention or request deletion. We will consider the request and explain if information must be retained. Where information is no longer needed and no retention obligation applies, reasonable steps should be taken to delete it or remove identifying details. Backup copies may remain until the relevant backup is replaced or expires.

Website technology and cookies

Delivering and protecting the website involves technical information such as an IP address, requested pages, browser information and request times. Hosting and security systems may record this information in operational logs to maintain the service and investigate faults or misuse.

WordPress and hosting features may use cookies or similar browser storage for functions such as signed-in sessions, security and site preferences. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may affect some functions.

At the date shown above, the public website does not include Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or Meta Pixel tracking scripts. We will update this section if visitor analytics or advertising tracking is introduced. Following an external link takes you to a service governed by its own privacy practices.

Access, correction and privacy questions

You can ask to access personal information we hold about you, request a correction, ask about deletion or obtain a copy of this policy by emailing sales@securelocksmiths.com.au or calling 0413 613 190.

Please describe your request and provide enough information for us to find the relevant records. We may need to verify your identity and authority before releasing or changing information, particularly where security systems or another person’s information are involved. If we cannot meet a request, we will explain the reason, subject to any legal restriction, and how you can raise a complaint.

Privacy complaints

Contact us using the details above and explain what happened, when it happened and the outcome you are seeking. We will review the complaint, seek further information where needed and respond to you. We aim to provide a response within 30 days; if more time is needed, we will explain why and keep you informed.

If you are dissatisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) for information about available complaint options. The OAIC’s ability to consider a complaint depends on its jurisdiction and the applicable privacy law.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy when website features, information-handling practices or legal requirements change. The current version and its update date are published on this page. You can request a copy using our privacy contact details.
